Vice President, Discovery and Development This West Coast company has been one of the world’s premier independent research and development organizations since its founding 55 years ago, and has an unprecedented record of innovative inventions, patents and spin-off companies. Reporting to the President and CEO, this position will be accountable for providing leadership and direction for all aspects of the organization’s expanding drug discovery and development efforts within cancer, infectious disease and women’s health issues. The Vice President, Discovery and Development will foster the contract service business by expanding the client base and offering a full spectrum of innovations and technologies which could lead to spinning off companies, as well as focusing on growing the organization in areas of functional expertise. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in a pharmaceutical related science and significant scientific experience and knowledge of research and the drug development process from discovery through development. Experience with pre-clinical development through IND submission is essential. Must have a proven track record of effective leadership by achieving results through teamwork and the ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally with other divisions. [ back ]
