Director of
Chemistry A Boston-area development-stage company using structure-based
drug design (SBDD) to target anti-infectives seeks a Director of Chemistry. This
position will lead the medicinal chemistry efforts of multiple projects and
people and will be responsible for guiding productive experimental
programs. This position will have
direct responsibility for ongoing and new drug discovery and development
programs and providing the technical and managerial leadership for this
effort. The incumbent will be
responsible for the generation of new ideas and directions for drug
development and will serve as a key member of the scientific management team. Qualifications �.
A Ph.D. in Synthetic, Organic, or Medicinal Chemistry and
ten or more years of research experience in organic or medicinal chemistry
with a pharmaceutical/ biotechnology company. �.
A demonstrated broad understanding of medicinal chemistry as
it relates to drug development using state of the art techniques and
approaches to rapidly identify lead compounds and generate clinical
candidates. �.
Significant and recent managerial experience with direct
responsibility of a group of at least 10 or more individuals (Ph.D. and
